and Going in God's Love:
Joseph Benham of Youth Emmaus with Rev Karen Hilsden and Radio Radio Manchester's Mike Shaft. Joseph and Karen were interviewed by Mike on his Sunday morning show on 6th March about the time they spent at the Methodist 3Generate Children and Youth Assembly last November where each age stream produced a manifesto, based on the conversations that took place and expressing the views, concerns and aspirations of the children and young people who attended.

There are 22 young people (15 Junior & 7 Youth), who regularly attend Emmaus, and numbers are continuing to grow. Once again, last term was busy and what follows is a brief account of events, as well as details of some future activities.
Last November, 13 of the group attended the 3generate Methodist Youth Weekend in Swindon, where they all had a great time exploring the theme of 'Wonderfully Made'.
In December '15 a group of 20 young people and parents, went Carol singing to people around Ashton, some of whom are housebound - and we know how much this was appreciated by them all.
We were extremely blessed last year by donations from individuals and groups, which allowed us a little more breathing space in our fundraising. That said, we have recently had a Quiz Night at Hurst and a Bag Packing / Carol Singing afternoon at Hurst Cross Asda.
We had a great annual concert at Stalybridge on Saturday 19th March at 7pm. It was well sopported and everybody enjoyed an entertaining evening! As a group, we strive to plant a heart for mission in the young people and see this as an important part of their spiritual growth.
In April we returned to Westwood Christian Centre, near Slaithwaite for our weekend retreat where we had a great time. It was based around three themes, Stories from the Bible, Stories Jesus told and Stories Jesus heard. Rev. Julie Coates led a Communion Service, on the final afternoon.
3 of the youth group went to see Rend Collective at O2 Ritz, Manchester | Sat 14th May It was a great concert.
Further ahead still, a group from Youth Emmaus will be attending Soul Survivor in Stafford, in July. They are eagerly looking forward to this opportunity to both worship and explore questions of Spirituality together.
So as we move into another busy year we would like to thank everyone for their continuing support and prayers for all involved in Junior and Youth Emmaus.
